Support

The THRIVE Approach

Exceptional pastoral care based on individual need — helping every child develop socially and emotionally, and engage positively with life and learning.

About Thrive

Nurture provision for every child

At Blue Sky we are proud to use the THRIVE Approach to support emotional and social development. This includes whole class activities, group sessions and individual interventions. There is a recognised link between children’s sense of wellbeing and their success as learners.

Nurture support is not limited to specific individuals — we embed nurturing principles and practice at a whole school level, providing appropriate support for all pupils.

For Families

Family Thrive at Blue Sky Learning

The Thrive Approach is a specific way of working with children that helps them develop social and emotional wellbeing. Our family course is designed to support parents and carers to learn about the Thrive Approach and its practical application to family life.

In small groups of 2–6 adults, parents attend six sessions over six weeks at BSL’s sister site SB Mentoring. Each session lasts approximately 1.5 hours and is fun, engaging and interactive.

Parents Will Learn

How relationships help their child’s emotional development

How children’s brains and nervous systems develop

Why play and creativity matter for healthy development

How to understand behaviour as communication
