British Values

British Values represent the relationships we form with one another at Blue Sky Learning — and underpin everything we do.

Our Commitment

Inclusive, respectful, forward-looking

Blue Sky is committed to serving the community and surrounding areas. We recognise the multi-cultural, multi-faith nature of the United Kingdom and understand the crucial role our school plays in promoting these values.

We encourage admissions from all those entitled to education under British law regardless of faith, ethnicity, gender, sexual, political or financial status. The promotion of modern British values and democracy is clearly evident within our school.

The Values in Practice

How we live these values every day

🗳️

Democracy

Children are actively encouraged to have a voice. Pupil Thrive sessions allow debate, discussion and shared decision-making about classroom standards.

⚖️

Rule of Law

The importance of laws — governing class, school and country — is reinforced throughout school life, with links to police, ambulance and fire services.

🕊️

Individual Liberty

Children are encouraged to make choices safely in a supportive environment — through learning challenges, recording methods and earned rewards.

🤝

Mutual Respect

As a Thrive-embedded provision, mutual respect is at the heart of our values. All members of our community treat each other with respect.

🌍

Tolerance of Faith & Belief

We explore world faiths — Judaism, Sikhism, Hinduism and Islam — alongside Christianity, celebrating diversity and broadening understanding.

🛡️

Preventing Radicalisation

All staff have undergone Prevent training. We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to extremist behaviour and prioritise safeguarding at all times.
